Pratt 3 p.m.cattle salesThe Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kan., reported estimated receipts of 6,000 head Aug. 28, as of 3 p.m., according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, feeder steers at 700 to 800 pounds were not enough to compare sales to last week, but a weaker undertone was noted. Feeder steers at 800 to 1,000 pounds were $2 lower with the bulk of trade steady to $1 lower. Feeder heifers at 600 to 900 pounds were $2 lower. Steers under 700 pounds and heifers under 600 pounds were not tested as of 3 p.m. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 700 to 750 lbs., 113.00 to 113.75; 750 to 800 lbs., 112.75 to 114.10; 800 to 850 lbs., 112.00 to 113.75, 850 to 900 lbs., 108.00 to 112.00; 900 to 950 lbs., 106.50 to 110.75; 950 to 1000 lbs., 105.60 to 108.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 600 to 650 lbs., 110.25 to 110.50; 650 to 700 lbs., 109.75 to 110.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 108.25 to 110.35; 750 to 800 lbs., 106.25 to 107.85; 800 to 850 lbs., 105.25 to 106.75, 850 to 900 lbs., 105.00 to 106.50. 9/1/08 Date: 8/28/08
