Lexington cattle sales reportThe Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 1,200 head Aug. 22, compared to 1,725 head two weeks ago, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Comparable receipts were too few to establish a trend, however, a fully steady undertone was noted on weights under 800 pounds, with heavier weight yearlings receiving very strong demand. Receipts consisted of 50% steers and 50% heifers, with 92% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 268 lbs., 144.00; 8 head, 331 lbs., 141.00; 16 head, 355 to 376 lbs., 134.50 to 137.50 (136.23); 8 head, 410 lbs., 133.00; 5 head, 604 lbs., 119.00; 8 head, 664 lbs., 119.50; 51 head, 793 lbs., 117.25; 806 to 824 lbs., 115.30 to 116.00 (115.81); 922 to 936 lbs., 109.35 to 115.00 (113.92); 13 head, 978 lbs., 102.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 9 head, 516 lbs., 116.00.
