Faith livestock sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 310 head Aug. 25, compared to 1,699 head last week and 506 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, a light supply of feeder steers and heifers sold $1 to $2 lower. Buyer attendance was light, with moderate demand. Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly $3 to $4 lower. The supply consisted 27% slaughter cows and bulls and 73% feeders. The feeder supply included 34% steers, 66% heifers, with 100% weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 18 head, 789 lbs., 114.50; 871 to 881 lbs., 111.00 to 111.25 (111.10); 7 head, 925 to 938 lbs., 102.75 to 105.50 (104.33). Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 16 head, 799 lbs., 104.25; 33 head, 818 lbs., 106.75; 862 to 885 lbs., 103.25 to 104.85 (104.62); 11 head, 974 to 978 lbs., 103.25 to 104.00 (103.79). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 699 lbs., 107.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1280 to 1805 lbs., 56.00 to 61.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1135 to 1440 lbs., 56.00 to 60.50; high dressing, 61.50 to 62.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1136 to 1420 lbs., 53.50 to 57.00; high dressing, 57.00 to 60.00.
