Dodge City livestock sales reportDodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., reported receipts of 1,963 head, Aug. 20, compared to 2,423 head, last week and 1,994 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, on a very light offering, steers at 400 to 650 pounds were steady and 650 to 825 pounds were steady with a lower undertone. Heifers at 350 to 800 pounds were steady. Trade and demand were moderate. Slaughter cows were weak to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were weak to $2 lower. Receipts included 73% over 600 pounds, 21% under 600 pounds and 6% slaughter cows and bulls with 115 head, early. The feeder supply consisted of 50% steers and 50% heifers.
