Denison feeder cattle report

The Denison Feeder Cattle Auction, Denison, Iowa, reported receipts of 2,407 head Aug. 21, compared to 2,249 head four weeks ago, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa.

This was a special feeder calf and yearling sale. Compared to the previous sale, four weeks ago, steers under 600 pounds were $2 to $3 higher, and $3 to $5 higher over 600 pounds. Heifers under 600 pounds were $6 to $10 higher, and $1 to $3 lower over 600 pounds. The offering included 65% steers and 35% heifers, with 84% over 600 pounds.
