Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame presents two great "Evenin' With..." programs for fall 2008Texas Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame kicks off Fall 2008 with two spectacular "Evenin' With..." family series programs. The first free program will commence at 7 p.m., Oct. 23 with legendary actor, artist and cowboy Mr. Buck Taylor. In addition to the event, Mr. Taylor will be giving away a limited edition print. The second planned event, also starting at 7 p.m., will be Nov. 19 showcasing Mitzi Lucas Riley, renowned rodeo trick rider and performer. Buck Taylor is not only a celebrated actor, but a keeper of the western spirit. He has appeared in such notable, western movies and television mini-series such as Gunsmoke, Tombstone, The Alamo and "Comanche Moon" (the prequel to Lonesome Dove) just to name a few. Taylor is also a talented artist. His watercolors help to preserve and share his love of the west and its heritage with his family, friends, and fans. Taylor is an Inductee of Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, as well as National Cowboy Hall of Fame, Golden Boot Recipient, and many more. Taylor will be inducted into the Texas Trail of Fame in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards Oct. 25. Mitzi Lucas Riley starting life as a premature, 2.2 pound infant is now one of the esteemed, legendary rodeo trick riding performers of all time. Daughter of Tad Lucas (a stunt performer for Gene Autry), Mitzi was born into rodeo. Learning to ride before she could walk, Mitzi made her debut at six, filling in for her injured mother in a trick riding act. A daring rider, she routinely turned down offers from Hollywood, while performing in rodeos coast to coast for twenty years. Retired from rodeo in 1995, Mitzi's awards include Inductee at National Cowgirl Hall of Fame, TCHOF Inductee, served on the board of the Rodeo Historical Society, establishing the Tad Lucas Award to recognize outstanding women in rodeo. Both amazing free events will be held inside the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and will also feature a guided museum tour, refreshments and a meet and greet segment immediately following the Inductee's event. In addition, TCHOF will be showcasing Taylor's art Oct. 23 to 26. Taylor's prints will also be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and Texas Trail of Fame. Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame honors men and women who have made significant impact and contribution to western culture and rodeo in Texas. The museum is also home of the Sterquell Wagon Collection, John Justin Trail of Fame, Zigrang Horse Bit Exhibit, Chisholm Trail Exhibit, Charro Exhibit and the new hands-on children's Exploratorium--Adventures of the Cowboy Trail. The museum offers a charming western gift store and the Jersey Lilly Old Tyme Photo Parlor.
