Texhoma livestock salesThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 622 head Oct. 22, compared to 320 head last week and 2,150 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, there was a limited test on feeder steers, heifers, and all calves. Demand was good for feeders, moderate for calves. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 212 cows and bulls sold with 31% going to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 19 head, 544 to 548 lbs., 100.50 to 104.50 (102.38); 85 head, 743 lbs., 101.00; 70 head, 765 lbs., 99.00; 37 head, 887 lbs., 94.25. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 420 to 440 lbs., 99.00 to 100.50 (99.75); 6 head, 644 lbs., 86.00 calves; 5 head, 693 lbs., 92.50; 24 head, 820 lbs., 89.00; 5 head, 857 lbs., 82.00. Medium and large frame 2, 9 head, 494 lbs., 83.00. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 5 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1600 lbs., 47.25 to 50.50. Boners, 24 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1100 to 1550 lbs., 48.50 to 50.00; high dressing, 51.50; low dressing, 43.50 to 46.50. Lean, 24 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 45.50 to 48.50; high dressing, 48.00 to 51.00; low dressing, 40.50 to 44.50. Lights, 7 head, 80 to 90% lean, 850 to 975 lbs., 35.50 to 38.00. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 6 head, 1350 to 1875 lbs., 59.50 to 60.50; low dressing, 52.50 to 57.50.
