South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Oct. 17, reported receipts of 900 feeder lambs, and 300 replacement ewes, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to the last week, feeder lambs were steady. There were no slaughter lambs, slaughter ewes, or slaughter meat goats. Trading and demand moderate. The financial crisis has affected all aspects of agriculture and buyers and sellers were taking a wait and see attitude. Feeder lambs: Texas, 900 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 95 lbs., 95.00 to 100.00. Replacement ewes: Texas, 300 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, solid mouth, whiteface 55.00 per head. 10/27/08 Date: 10/23/08
