Presho cattle sales report

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 1,350 head Oct. 16, compared to 1,200 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Trends were not applicable as no report in the last month. There were attractive offerings of native steers and heifers off grass, one consignment of calves, and the rest were yearlings. The offering included 37% steers, 63% heifers, with 91% weighing 600 pounds and over.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 431 lbs., 119.00; 28 head, 509 lbs., 114.75; 6 head, 646 lbs., 105.25; 57 head, 779 lbs., 102.00; 811 to 823 lbs., 97.00 to 103.85 (102.79); 883 to 899 lbs., 99.00 to 101.10 (100.01); 901 to 934 lbs., 97.00 to 102.35 (101.74); 9 head, 979 lbs., 94.35. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 13 head, 474 lbs., 106.00; 534 to 546 lbs., 103.25 to 105.25 (103.68).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 403 lbs., 109.75; 19 head, 468 lbs., 100.50; 76 head, 744 lbs., 98.85; 17 head, 751 lbs., 97.35; 820 to 846 lbs., 95.00 to 96.85 (95.98); 853 to 889 lbs., 93.10 to 96.35 (95.22).
