Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 549 head Oct. 16, compared to 426 head last week and 1,849 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers and heifers, all weights, were not enough for a market test but a higher undertone was noted. Slaughter cows were $1 to $2 higher in a light test, and slaughter bulls in a light test were steady to $2 higher. Trade and demand were light to moderate. Receipts included 63% over 600 pounds, 26% under 600 pounds and 11% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply consisted of 64% steers and 36% heifers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 23 head, 767 lbs., 96.60; 45 head, 835 lbs., 96.85; 48 head, 881 lbs., 95.75; 61 head, 932 lbs., 94.00. Full, 23 head, 722 lbs., 94.75.
