Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, reported receipts of 1,153 head of sheep and goats Oct. 17, compared to 1,878 head last week and 1,382 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Slaughter lambs light weight were $10 to $15 higher, heavy weights were steady on light test. Stocker and feeder goats firm on a light test, a higher undertone was noted. Slaughter goats were $20 to $25 higher. Demand was good. The supply included round 25% sheep including nearly 100 lambs. Prices per hundredweight unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 90 to 130 lbs., 35.00 to 60.00. Barbados ewes, 60 to 90 lbs., 40.00 to 50.00. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 150.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Prime 2 to 3: 90 lbs., 98.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 95.00 to 109.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, few 135 lbs., 27.00. Slaughter bucks, 100 to 220 lbs., 20.00 to 35.00. Slaughter barbados, lambs, 40 to 70 lbs., 92.00 to 105.00. Ewes, 60 to 90 lbs., 37.00 to 45.00. Bucks, few 100 lbs., 43.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 105.00 to 116.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 105.00 to 115.00. Selection 2, 60 to 80 lbs., 90.00 to 100.00.
