Dunlap livestock sales reportThe Dunlap Livestock Auction, Dunlap, Iowa, reported receipts of 638 head Oct. 17, compared to 1,647 head two weeks ago, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. This was a special feeder calf and yearling sale. Compared to the last special, two weeks ago, the market was $6 lower to $2 higher on steer calves under 600 pounds and $5 to $8 lower on steers over 600 pounds. Heifer calves under 600 pounds were $1.50 to $5.50 lower, and the trend was $5 to $6 lower on heifers over 600 pounds. Receipts included 71% steers and 29% heifers. Feeder cattle weighing over 600 pounds were 56%.
