Arkansas livestock sales summaryThe weekly summary of livestock sales in Arkansas for the week ending Oct. 16, showed estimated receipts of 5,130 head, compared to 6,222 head last week and 8,053 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows sold steady with instances of $1 lower. Slaughter bulls sold steady. Feeders sold mostly weak to $4 lower. The supply included 3,360 stocker and feeder calves, 930 feeder yearlings, 275 replacement cows, 485 slaughter cows, and 80 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply included 39% yearling heifers. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 43.00 to 49.00; high dressing, 49.00 to 54.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 43.00 to 49.00; high dressing, 49.00 to 56.50; low dressing, 38.00 to 44.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 39.00 to 45.00; high dressing, 45.00 to 51.00; low dressing, 30.00 to 39.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 32.00 to 38.00; low dressing, 22.00 to 32.00.
