Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,050 head Oct. 13, compared to 2,001 head last week and 3,524 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, No. 1 stocker steers were $1 to $3 higher, heifers were $3 to $5 lower. Feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to good especially on light weight steers, and buyer participation was good. There was a high percentage of No. 2 and very plain type cattle. Weigh-ups were mostly average to some thin. Receipts included 44% steers, 41% heifers, 14% bulls, with 23% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls mostly steady with good demand on lean cows. A total of 437 cows and bulls sold with 49% going to packers.
