Superior video auction report

The Superior Video Auction reported offerings of 27,100 head Oct. 10, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to the last sale, feeder steers and heifers traded $5 to $12 lower on extremely light receipts. The supply included 49% feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds, 68% of the supply were steers and 32% heifers. Prices were FOB based on net weights after a 2 to 3% pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 3 to 6 cent slide on yearlings and 4 to 10 on calves. Deliveries current through January 2009.

Fall contracts, 400 to 500 lbs., 115 head, 115.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 164 head, calves 90.64; 700 to 800 lbs., 885 head, 95.72; 800 to 900 lbs., 242 head, 91.16.
