South Central direct sheep

The South Central direct sheep sales report for the week ending Oct. 10, showed receipts of 400 feeder lambs, and 200 meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to the last week feeder lambs were $2 to $5 lower. There were no slaughter lambs, slaughter ewes or replacement ewes. Trading and demand were moderate. The financial crisis has affected all parts of agriculture and buyers and sellers taking a wait and see attitude.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 400 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 80 lbs., 92.00 to 95.00.

Slaughter meat goats: Kids, Texas, 200 head, Selection 1 to 2, 50 to 60 lbs., 85.00.
