Salina cattle sales reportThe Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 601 head Oct. 9, compared to 1,352 head last week and 2,108 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. There was no comparison to last week. Steers and heifers were not enough for a market test, but an extreme lower undertone was noted. Trade was slow. Demand was light. Receipts included 56% 600 pounds and over, 43% 600 pounds and under, 1% slaughter cows. The feeder supply included 56% steers and 44% heifers.
