Porter will replace John Quinn of Chillicothe, Mo., representing growers in District 2. Schneider fills the District 6 position, replacing Jayne Glosemeyer, retiring MCMC chairwoman and farmer from Marthasville, Mo. Several Missouri corn grower-leaders have also been appointed to serve on National Corn Growers Association Action Teams and Committees. Mike Geske will preside as the incoming chairman of the NCGA Public Policy Action Team and Rob Korff has been named the new chairman of the NCGA Biotech Working Group. Keith Witt will also serve on the Rest of the World Programs Action Team. The MCMC board of directors is comprised of 14 farmers elected from across the state. This volunteer producer board was formed in 1984 through a half-cent per bushel corn checkoff and is dedicated to market development, research and education. MCMC's sister organization, MCGA, is a grassroots organization of nearly 1,500 farmer-members dedicated to increasing the profitability of corn production through sound policies, continued market development and a strong involvement in the political process. 10/20/08 Date: 10/16/08
