Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Oct. 13, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $5.88 1/2, up 25 cents; December corn, $4.11 1/4, up 3 1/4 cents; and November soybeans, $9.28, up 18 cents. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $6.57 1/4 to $6.67 1/4, up 22 1/4 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $4.88 1/2 to $5.08 1/2, up 25 to 30 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $4.56 1/2 to $4.65 1/2, up 3 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.26 to $7.44, up 6 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, was $7.17, up 5 3/4 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $9.88 to $9.93, up 16 to 18 cents. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $5.36. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $5.64 to $5.83. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was 8 cents higher, at $4.48. In north central Colorado, wheat was $5.30 to $5.65. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $5.07 to $5.28. In east central Colorado, wheat was $5.25 to $5.64. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $5.02 to $5.23. In south central Colorado, wheat was $4.78. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $5.10 to $5.17. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 3 cents higher and $3.61 to $4.31 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $3.66 to $4.15. In east central Colorado, corn was $3.56 to $3.71. In southeast Colorado, corn was $3.66 to $3.99. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $3.76 to $4.07 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was 5 cents higher at $5.64 to $5.82 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 14 cents lower at $7.56 to $7.61 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $4.70 to $6 per cwt., mostly $5 to $6. Sunflowers were $18 to $19 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $3.61 to $4.21 per bushel. Barley was steady at $7. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans, no comparison, few $34 per cwt.
