Gelbvieh Association honors productive cows

A Dam of Merit has produced a minimum of three calves with at least a 101 weaning ratio in addition to not being more than 25 months of age with her first calf and has a regular calving interval. In 2008, 3,527 cows or 5.3 percent of the active cows in the breed earned Dam of Merit status. A Dam of Distinction has produced a minimum of eight calves meeting the same criteria.
