Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,749 head Oct. 9, compared to 1,231 head last week and 1,846 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, fleshy and non-weaned feeder steers and heifers were mostly steady, pre-conditioned offerings were steady to $3 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were weak to $2 lower. Trade and demand were moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 325- to 875-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 20% of the offering, slaughter bulls 1%, replacement cows 1%, and feeders 78%. The feeder supply included 50% steers and 50% heifers, with nearly 30% of the run over 600 pounds. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, package 247 lbs., pre-conditioned 141.70; 300 to 400 lbs., 119.00 to 125.00, two packages 318 to 349 lbs., pre-conditioned 129.00 to 135.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 106.00 to 110.00, pre-conditioned 116.50 to 121.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 96.00 to 101.00, pre-conditioned 102.00 to 107.50; 600 to 700 lb. calves 90.00 to 96.00; package 769 lbs., 92.50; 700 to 800 lb. calves 85.00 to 86.00; package 894 lbs., 86.00, package 836 lb. calves 83.00.
