Arkansas livestock sales summaryThe weekly summary of livestock sales in Arkansas for the week ending Oct. 9, showed estimated receipts of 6,220 head, compared to 9,695 head last week and 8,634 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls sold weak to $2 lower. Feeders sold mostly weak to $3 lower. The supply included 3,720 stocker and feeder calves, 1,300 feeder yearlings, 570 replacement cows, and 535 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply included 43% yearling heifers. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 44.00 to 50.00; high dressing, 50.00 to 58.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 43.00 to 49.00; high dressing, 49.00 to 56.00; low dressing, 38.00 to 43.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 39.00 to 45.00; high dressing, 40.00 to 53.00; low dressing, 30.00 to 39.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 32.00 to 38.00; low dressing, 22.00 to 32.00.
