Cleveland County 4-H takes first at State Fair judging contest

Oklahoma

The Cleveland County 4-H Livestock Judging was the first place senior team at the 2008 State Fair of Oklahoma Livestock Judging Contest on Sept. 12.

The team has had a successful season starting in April. At the 2008 State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest they were the high team in cattle, sheep and reasons ad high team overall. The team was also second overall at the 2008 Oklahoma State University Animal Science Field Days in July in Stillwater, while being the high team in swine.

The team was then later successful at the National Junior Swine Association Southwest Regional Contest in Wichita Falls, Texas, where they were second place Intermediate Team.

The team is preparing for the 4-H contest at the Tulsa State Fair in October and will be representing Oklahoma at the National 4-H contest in November in Louisville, Ky.

Team members are Carly Smith and Aerial Smith of Lexington, Maverick Squires of Noble, and Chris Hall of Moore and is coached by Justin Rogers.
