Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,639 head Oct. 27, compared to 3,149 head last week and 4,018 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, steer calves were $6 to $8 lower. Heifer calves were $3 to $5 lower. Few feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $4 lower. Market activity was good later in the sale along with good demand. Weigh-ups were mostly average, few full calves. Buyer attendance was good. Receipts included 47% steers, 38% heifers, 14% bulls, with 29% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $3 to $4 lower. Slaughter bulls were $2 to $3 lower. There was increased demand on replacement bred cows and stock cows. A total of 550 cows and bulls sold with 47% going to packers.
