Texhoma livestock sales reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 2,571 head Oct. 29, compared to 622 head last week and 1,300 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady. There were no recent sales to test trends of feeder heifers and calves, but a higher undertone was noted. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to full. Receipts included 56% over 600 pounds, 31% under 600 pounds, 13% cows and bulls. Heifers comprised 49% of supply. Slaughter cows were $4 to $5 lower. Slaughter bulls lightly tested and steady. A total of 340 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers.
