Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,293 head, Oct. 23, compared to 549 head, last week and 1,490 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 300 to 700 pounds were not tested, and 700 to 1,000 pounds were steady to $2 higher compared with last week's light test. Heifers were not enough for a market test, but steady to higher undertones were noted. Slaughter cows were steady to $2 higher; slaughter bulls had no comparison with last week, and were all low dressing. Receipts included 77% over 600 pounds, 7% 600 pounds and under and 16% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply consisted of 87% steers and 13% heifers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 800 to 850 lbs., 96.60 to 99.85 (97.93); 850 to 900 lbs., 96.50 to 97.85 (96.95); 900 to 950 lbs., 93.85 to 95.10 (94.80); 55 head, 958 lbs., 94.00.
