Ogallala livestock salesThe Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Neb., reported receipts of 2,500 head Oct. 23, compared to 2,500 head last week and 4,000 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, steers and heifers were $2 to $9 higher. Demand was good on all weights. Steers accounted for 80% and heifers 20% of the total receipts. Weights over 600 pounds accounted for 17% of the offering.
