OKC West livestock auction reportThe North Arkansas Livestock, Green Forest, Ark., reported receipts of 1,383 head Oct. 29, compared to 886 head last week and 1,128 head last year, according to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls not fully tested last week. Feeder steers mixed with the better steers over 500 pounds were steady to $2 higher and under 500 pounds and plainer kind mostly steady to $4 lower. Feeder heifers under 650 pounds were steady to $4 lower, 650 to 750 pounds were steady to $2 higher. The supply included about 700 feeders, 487 yearlings, 60 replacement cows, 119 slaughter cows, 15 slaughter bulls, and 2 replacement cows. The feeder supply included 57% steers, 34% heifers, and 10% bulls, with nearly 41% of the run weighed over 600 pounds. Prices follow with weighted average price in parenthesis. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 42.50 to 46.75; high dressing, 48.00 to 51.75; Individual 54.00.
