Joplin livestock sales reportThe Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 3,711 head Oct. 27, compared to 3,011 head last week and 5,691 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers over 400 pounds were $3 to $6 lower, heifers 400 to 700 pounds were $4 to $8 lower, over 700 pounds were steady to $2 lower, steer and heifer calves under 400 pounds were steady. Demand and supply were moderate to light. The feeder supply included 41 % steers, 47 % heifers, 12 % bulls, with 38 % over 600 pounds.
