Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Oct. 27 reported receipts of 1,287 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,153 head last week and 1,951 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Light weight slaughter lambs were $8 to $10 higher, heavy weights were steady on light test. Stocker and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were steady to firm. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 200 lambs. Stock and feeder: Dorper bucks 155.00 per head. Barbados bucks 135.00 to 450.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Prime 2 to 3, few 100 lbs., 90.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 105.00 to 116.00. Slaughter Barbados, lambs, 40 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 110.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 20 to 40 lbs., 110.00 to 124.00; 40 to 60 lbs., 105.00 to 117.00, few to 121.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 105.00 to 119.00. Selection 2, 40 to 60 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00, 60 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 107.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 30.00 to 45.00, few light weights to 50.00. Billies, few 90 to 200 lbs., 60.00 to 70.00. Muttons, Selection 1, 90 to 110 lbs., 85.00 to 93.00. Selection 2, 120 to 155 lbs., 66.00 to 76.00.
