Ericson livestock sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,100 head Oct. 25, compared to 875 head last week and 4,700 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. No trends from last weeks sale, but a lower undertone was noted. Poor weather caused a few cancellations, and was probably the largest factor in prices. Receipts consisted of 50% steers and 50% heifers, 49% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 400 to 447 lbs., 113.25 to 121.00 (116.55); 466 to 493 lbs., 113.00 to 117.50 (115.61); 500 to 542 lbs., 107.50 to 112.00 (110.33); 582 to 597 lbs., 101.75 to 107.00 (105.32); 601 to 638 lbs., 98.50 to 106.35 (103.21) calves; 12 head, 671 lbs., 100.00 calves; 711 to 745 lbs., 97.50 to 100.50 (99.07); 755 to 794 lbs., 97.50 to 98.75 (98.26); 33 head, 875 lbs., 96.75; 35 head, 911 lbs., 95.85; 1004 to 1018 lbs., 95.85.
