Wyoming brucellosis tests are negative so farCHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP)--A state livestock official says no brucellosis infections have been found in the latest testing of western Wyoming cattle herds. State and federal officials are testing herds that could have had contact with a Daniel-area herd that tested positive for the livestock disease in June. They're also testing herds that could have had contact with a Bondurant-area herd that was possibly linked to an infected cow at a Nebraska slaughterhouse in September. The herds are being tested as they're brought in from their summer ranges. The U.S. Department of Agriculture extended a testing deadline for Wyoming until Nov. 25. Assistant state veterinarian Jim Logan says the state is on track to complete all necessary testing by then. Wyoming will lose its brucellosis-free status if a second infected herd is discovered within two years of this summer's detection.
