West Plains regional sales reportThe Ozarks Regional Stockyard, West Plains, Mo., reported receipts of 4,433 head Nov. 18, compared to 4,659 head last week and 1,912 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers over 450 pounds and heifers, all weights, were $2 to $3 lower, although light weight steer calves under 450 pounds were $7 to $11 lower. The supply was moderate. Demand was moderate, with good buyer attendance, although most were fairly selective and persistently more price conscience. The supply consisted of 58% steers and 42% heifers, with nearly 40% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 110.00 to 116.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 102.50 to 111.00, fleshy 91.50 to 95.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 94.50 to 102.50; 550 to 600 lbs., 92.50 to 97.50, fleshy 85.00 to 88.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 90.00 to 96.50, calves/fleshy 86.00 to 93.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 90.00 to 92.50, several calves 83.50 to 87.50; lot 21 head 860 lbs., 89.50; load and part 69 head 953 lbs., 85.25.
