Watertown cattle sales report

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 740 head Nov. 19, compared to 650 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and feeder heifers were $2 to $3 lower. Feeder steers made up 52% of the sale, feeder heifers made up 48% of the sale, with 50% of the offerings over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 435 to 446 lbs., 105.00 to 108.00 (106.17); 523 to 535 lbs., 104.50; 25 head, 565 lbs., 103.50; 612 to 614 lbs., 95.00 to 101.00 (97.05) calves; 651 to 688 lbs., 92.75 to 98.00 (95.04) calves; 11 head, 908 to 918 lbs., 89.50 to 90.25 (89.91). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 480 to 486 lbs., 98.00 to 99.00 (98.63); 17 head, 564 to 580 lbs., 91.00 to 93.00 (92.04); 602 to 637 lbs., 91.00 calves; 12 head, 655 lbs., 88.00; 6 head, 731 lbs., 88.75 calves; 9 head, 965 lbs., 84.00. Medium and large frame 2, 13 head, 507 lbs., 98.00. Medium frame 1, 20 head, 565 lbs., 85.50. Medium frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 641 lbs., 84.00 calves.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 9 head, 851 lbs., 51.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 375 to 376 lbs., 91.00 to 100.00 (94.37); 19 head, 520 to 529 lbs., 89.50 to 91.00 (90.60); 18 head, 572 lbs., 90.75; 600 to 626 lbs., 83.00 to 87.00 (85.43) calves; 5 head, 787 lbs., 86.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 370 to 378 lbs., 85.00 to 92.00 (87.96); 20 head, 406 to 438 lbs., 81.00 to 90.00 (87.09); 451 to 491 lbs., 84.50 to 88.00 (85.81); 537 to 548 lbs., 83.00 to 89.00 (85.25); 6 head, 668 lbs., 84.00 calves; 6 head, 748 lbs., 83.00; 9 head, 753 lbs., 88.50 calves; 40 head, 865 lbs., 82.00.
