Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,833 head Nov. 17, compared to 4,780 head last week and 2,733 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, steer calves were $2 to $3 lower. Feeder steers were steady. Heifer calves were $3 to $5 higher. Feeder heifers were steady. Weigh-ups were average. Demand was good, especially on heifer calves. Buyer attendance was good. Receipts consisted of 44% steers, 44% heifers, 12% bulls, with 21% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $3 to $4 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. Demand was good on lean and high yielding cows. A total of 360 cows and bulls sold with 53% going to packers.
