Tulia livestock sales reportThe Tulia Livestock Market Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 3,539 head Nov. 17, compared to 3,211 head last week and 2,333 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $4 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2 to $3 higher. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 4% of the offering, replacement cows less than 1% and feeders 95%. The feeder supply included 65% steers, 33% heifers and 2% bulls, with nearly 62% of the run over 600 pounds.
