St. Onge livestock sales

The St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported receipts of 3,009 head Nov. 14, compared to 4,329 head last week and 2,729 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers weighing 400 to 445 pounds sold weaker. Steer calves weighing 450 to 600 pounds sold mostly $2 to $6 higher. Feeder steers weighing over 600 pounds sold steady to $3 higher. Heifer calves sold mostly steady to $2 lower due to lack of interest and quality on offer, with exception of light 400 to 450 weight heifers selling $2 to $4 higher. Buyer attendance was moderate with moderate demand. The supply consisted of approximately 65% steers, 35% heifers, with 26% weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 15 head, 378 lbs., 122.00; 431 to 444 lbs., 112.50 to 119.00 (113.91); 428 to 430 lbs., 130.50 to 131.00 (130.65) value added; 482 to 499 lbs., 112.00 to 118.00 (115.49); 450 to 457 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00 (123.28) value added; 531 to 548 lbs., 106.00 to 112.00 (109.29); 516 to 520 lbs., 114.00 to 118.00 (116.83) value added; 551 to 595 lbs., 100.00 to 106.50 (104.19); 20 head, 616 lbs., 97.50; 600 to 646 lbs., 95.00 to 101.75 (100.37) calves; 652 to 671 lbs., 95.25 to 101.75 (99.57) calves; 704 to 740 lbs., 97.75 to 98.00 (97.87); 12 head, 830 lbs., 102.00; 855 to 893 lbs., 96.75 to 100.25 (97.72). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 356 lbs., 110.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 383 lbs., 104.00; 405 to 443 lbs., 105.00 to 109.00 (106.28); 466 to 484 lbs., 98.00 to 100.00 (99.62); 460 to 473 lbs., 104.50 to 106.00 (104.89) value added; 507 to 546 lbs., 90.00 to 94.75 (93.79); 550 to 590 lbs., 89.00 to 93.50 (92.06); 633 to 648 lbs., 89.25 to 90.00 (89.57) calves; 15 head, 657 lbs., 89.00 calves; 715 to 747 lbs., 92.75 to 95.00 (93.81); 764 to 770 lbs., 92.50 to 93.00 (92.71); 812 to 844 lbs., 89.50 to 94.25 (92.45); 15 head, 851 lbs., 93.25; 13 head, 908 lbs., 91.75.
