Springfield livestock market reportThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,735 head Nov. 12, compared to 1,747 head last week and 2,770 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers were $1 to $5 lower, exception under 450 pounds were steady, Holsteins were steady to $2 lower, heifers under 600 pounds were $4 to $8 lower, over 600 pounds were $3 to $5 lower. Demand was moderate to light, supply moderate. The bulk of the offerings were calves. The few yearlings being offered were in mostly small packages. Weigh-ups were average to full. The feeder supply included 38% steers, 20% Holsteins, 31 percent heifers, 11% bulls, with 48% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 375 to 400 lbs., 123.00 to 127.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 114.50 to 122.00, 450 to 500 lbs., 101.00 to 111.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 95.00 to 108.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 98.00 to 105.50, calves 92.00 to 104.00, 650 to 700 lbs., 92.00 to 103.50; 700 to 775 lbs., 91.00 to 95.50, few fleshy 87.00 to 88.50.
