Springfield livestock market report

The Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,735 head Nov. 12, compared to 1,747 head last week and 2,770 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Jefferson City, Mo.

Compared to last week, steers were $1 to $5 lower, exception under 450 pounds were steady, Holsteins were steady to $2 lower, heifers under 600 pounds were $4 to $8 lower, over 600 pounds were $3 to $5 lower. Demand was moderate to light, supply moderate. The bulk of the offerings were calves. The few yearlings being offered were in mostly small packages. Weigh-ups were average to full. The feeder supply included 38% steers, 20% Holsteins, 31 percent heifers, 11% bulls, with 48% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 375 to 400 lbs., 123.00 to 127.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 114.50 to 122.00, 450 to 500 lbs., 101.00 to 111.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 95.00 to 108.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 98.00 to 105.50, calves 92.00 to 104.00, 650 to 700 lbs., 92.00 to 103.50; 700 to 775 lbs., 91.00 to 95.50, few fleshy 87.00 to 88.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2 package 275 lbs., 120.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 95.00 to 106.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 90.00 to 100.00, thin 100.00 to 106.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 85.00 to 93.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 83.50 to 89.50; 800 to 900 lbs., 85.00 to 89.00. Medium and large frame 2, package 403 lbs., thin 114.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 85.00 to 86.00, lot thin 97.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 85.00 to 87.00; lot 809 lbs., 84.50. Large frame 1, 475 to 500 lbs., 100.50 to 101.00; 525 to 600 lbs., 85.00 to 95.50; 625 to 700 lbs., 85.00 to 90.00; package 795 lbs., 85.00.

Holsteins: Large frame 3, package 288 lbs., 76.00; package 361 lbs., 65.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 62.50 to 68.00; 525 to 600 lbs., 64.00 to 68.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 62.00 to 67.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 62.00 to 65.00; 800 to 875 lbs., 62.00 to 67.00; 900 to 975 lbs., 60.00 to 62.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 400 to 500 lbs., 82.00 to 91.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 79.00 to 86.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 79.00 to 84.00, calves 78.00 to 79.50; 725 to 750 lbs., few 85.50; package 803 lbs., 84.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2 300 to 400 lbs., 84.00 to 95.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 77.00 to 83.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 75.00 to 83.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 78.50 to 83.00; 775 to 800 lbs., 78.00 to 79.00; package 833 lbs., 84.50. Large frame 1, 500 to 600 lbs., 75.00 to 81.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, package 456 lbs., 104.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 86.00 to 104.00; 600 to 700 lbs., calves 85.00 to 91.00, 675 to 700 lbs., 85.00 to 92.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 78.00 to 86.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, few 375 to 400 lbs., 100.00 to 109.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 91.00 to 110.00; 500 to 575 lbs., 86.00 to 94.00; 625 to 700 lbs., 83.50 to 88.00, package calves 82.50; 700 to 800 lbs., few 83.00 to 83.50.
