North Arkansas livestock sales report

The North Arkansas Livestock, Green Forest, Ark., reported receipts of 2,057 head Nov. 19, compared to 1,191 head last week, according to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark.

Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $2 lower. Feeder steers under 500 pounds were steady to $5 lower, over 500 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Feeder heifers under 500 pounds were $3 to $10 lower, over 500 pounds were steady to $1 lower. The supply included about 1220 feeders, 686 yearlings, 60 replacement cows, 74 slaughter cows, 9 slaughter bulls, 3 replacement bulls. The feeder supply included 56% steers, 33% heifers, and 11% bulls, with nearly 36% of the run weighing more than 600 pounds.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 39.00 to 42.50; low dressing, 43.00 to 43.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 39.50 to 43.00; high dressing, 43.00 to 45.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 35.00 to 40.00; high dressing, 41.00 to 42.00; low dressing, 27.00 to 32.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 32.00 to 35.00; low dressing, 15.00 to 26.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1000 to 2100 lbs., 50.00 to 55.00; high dressing, 57.50; low dressing, 45.00 to 47.00.
