Grain market close

The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Feb. 6, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $5.33 3/4, down 20 1/2 cents; December corn, $3.85 3/4, up 5 1/2 cents; and January soybeans, $9.06 1/2, up 10 1/2 cents.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $6.05 1/2 to $6.20 1/2, down 27 3/4 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $4.83 3/4 to $4.98 3/4, down 20 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $4.20 3/4 to $4.26 3/4, up 3 1/2 to 6 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $6.89 to $6.98, up 10 to down 8; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, was $6.80, up 24 1/4 to 10 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $9.61 1/2 to $9.66 1/2, up 15 1/2 cents.

Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $5.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $5.21 to $5.41.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado were mostly 4 to 5 cents lower, at $4.10.

In north central Colorado, wheat was $4.87 to $5.21.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $4.79 to $4.91.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $4.91 to $5.26.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $4.51 to $4.81.

In south central Colorado, wheat was $4.11.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $4.61 to $4.91.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 6 cents lower and $3.40 to $3.85 per bushel.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $3.48 to $3.72.

In east central Colorado, corn was $3.40 to $3.52.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $3.34 to $3.68.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $3.60 to $3.66 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado were mostly 11 cents lower at $5.07 to $5.35 per cwt.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were mostly 4 cents lower at $7.84 to $7.87 per bushel.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $5 to $7.50 per cwt., mostly $5.25 to $5.50.

Sunflowers were $16 cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $3.40 to $3.85 per bushel. Barley was steady at $7.

In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans, Great Northerns and light red kidneys were not established.
