Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Nov. 14, reported receipts of 2,569 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,305 head last week and 2,089 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stock and feeder lambs were not tested. Slaughter lambs were steady. Stock and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were $3 to $5 lower. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 500 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 95 to 120 lbs., 41.00 to 63.00. Dorper bucks, 100 to 210 lbs., 64.00 to 114.00. Barbados ewes, 70 to 90 lbs., 35.00 to 45.00. Slaughter lambs: Prime, 90 to 100 lbs., 93.00 to 98.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 85 lbs., 98.00 to 111.00, few to 120.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 90 to 130 lbs., 34.00 to 41.00. Barbados ewes, 60 to 90 lbs., 25.00 to 35.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 102.00 to 110.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 111.00. Selection 2, 40 to 60 lbs., 95.00 to 100.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 120 lbs., 30.00 to 43.00, thin 25.00 to 30.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 65.00 to 79.00, few light weights 80.00 to 89.00.
