Ericson livestock sales

The Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 1,600 head Nov. 15, compared to 3,500 head last week and 2,200 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Based on a fewer number of cattle than last week's sale, steer and heifer calves in the 500- and 600-pound weight range trended to $3 lower, with a sharply lower undertone noted on the 400-pounders. Demand on 800- and 900-pound yearlings was good. Receipts consisted of 59% steers and 41% heifers, 43% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 366 lbs., 118.00; 408 to 444 lbs., 108.50 to 117.00 (115.15); 451 to 483 lbs., 111.00 to 113.75 (112.67); 501 to 535 lbs., 103.75 to 118.00 (110.32); 559 to 583 lbs., 100.00 to 107.00 (106.02); 19 head, 627 lbs., 100.00; 606 to 640 lbs., 103.50 to 107.50 (106.40) calves; 6 head, 660 lbs., 100.00; 692 lbs., 101.75 to 104.00 (103.70) calves; 7 head, 676 lbs., 97.50 fleshy; 15 head, 727 lbs., 101.25; 27 head, 722 lbs., 103.00 calves; 9 head, 760 lbs., 99.00; 800 to 847 lbs., 94.00 to 104.25 (102.81); 855 to 867 lbs., 98.00 to 101.25 (100.03); 102 head, 967 lbs., 99.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 315 lbs., 108.00; 381 to 394 lbs., 100.00 to 103.50 (101.99); 408 to 425 lbs., 99.50 to 104.00 (102.58); 469 to 498 lbs., 96.25 to 99.75 (97.76); 500 to 543 lbs., 93.50 to 101.00 (96.86); 551 to 583 lbs., 96.50 to 97.25 (97.09); 22 head, 645 lbs., 96.00; 50 head, 638 lbs., 95.25 calves; 657 to 661 lbs., 95.00 to 99.25 (98.47) calves; 31 head, 722 lbs., 96.60; 8 head, 801 lbs., 93.50; 982 to 994 lbs., 85.00 to 95.00 (87.70).

Bred cows: Medium and large frame 1, young, 883 to 1181 lbs., 700.00 to 960.00 (834.58). Medium and large frame 1, aged, 10 head, 1010 lbs., 400.00; 29 head, 1206 lbs., 575.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, middle-aged, 8 head, 1379 lbs., 1000.00.
