Watertown livestock sales

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 650 head Nov. 12, compared to 975 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

There were no trends due to no report the past two weeks. There was light demand with a lower undertone. Feeder steers made up 58% of the sale, feeder heifers made up 42%. Offerings over 600 pounds made up 44% of the run.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 388 lbs., 112.00; 529 to 536 lbs., 106.50 to 110.50 (108.19); 569 to 572 lbs., 103.00 to 104.50 (104.01); 612 to 641 lbs., 101.00 to 106.00 (103.62) calves; 663 to 685 lbs., 99.75 to 100.50 ( 99.96) calves; 11 head, 886 to 896 lbs., 93.00 to 94.50 (93.41). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 469 lbs., 107.00; 12 head, 505 to 538 lbs., 100.00 to 103.50 (102.10); 5 head, 592 lbs., 96.50; 6 head, 629 lbs., 96.50; 664 to 698 lbs., 90.25 to 97.25 (94.92); 17 head, 718 lbs., 96.75; 7 head, 788 lbs., 96.25. Medium frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 411 lbs., 103.00; 6 head, 500 to 501 lbs., 85.00 to 95.00 (90.00); 5 head, 909 lbs., 82.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 423 to 440 lbs., 95.50 to 96.50 (96.07); 506 to 541 lbs., 92.50 to 93.75 (93.06); 550 to 598 lbs., 90.25 to 95.50 (92.80); 10 head, 640 lbs., 93.00; 718 to 730 lbs., 91.00 to 92.75 (92.42); 6 head, 770 lbs., 90.00.
