Salina livestock sales reportThe Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 2,178 head, Nov. 6, compared to 2,316 head, last week and 2,646 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 300 to 450 pounds were in light supply, and there was no comparison for a market test. Steers at 450 to 600 pounds were firm to $4 higher, and 600 to 1,050 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Heifers at 400 to 650 pounds were steady to $5 higher, and 650 to 1,000 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Trade and demand were good. Receipts included 72% 600 pounds and over, 27% 600 pounds and under, 1% slaughter cows. The feeder supply 68% steers and 32% heifers.
