Joplin regional livestock sales reportThe Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 6,400 head Nov. 10, compared to 3,500 head last week and 6,013 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steer calves were steady. Heifer calves over 450 pounds were steady, and under 450 pounds were $2 to $10 higher. Yearling steers were steady to $3 higher, and yearling heifers were $1 to $4 higher. Demand was moderate to good, and supply moderate. Calves were in medium to fleshy condition, few thin or weaned, and yearlings were in medium to thin flesh. Yearlings made up a higher percentage of the offering than in the previous sales. The feeder supply included 46% steers, 44% heifers, 9% bulls, with 47% over 600 pounds.
