Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Nov. 7, reported receipts of 1,305 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,954 head last week and 1,516 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stock and feeder lambs were not tested. Lightweight slaughter lambs were steady to firm, and heavy weights were steady. Stock and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were steady. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including near 200 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 95 to 120 lbs., 35.00 to 52.00. Barbados ewes, 70 to 90 lbs., 35.00 to 40.00. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Prime, 90 to 100 lbs., 93.00 to 95.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 45 to 80 lbs., 99.00 to 112.00, few to 117.00. Choice, 45 to 80 lbs., 92.00 to 100.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 90 to 120 lbs., 35.00 to 41.50. Barbados, lambs, 40 to 70 lbs., 90.00 to 105.00; ewes, 70 to 90 lbs., 35.00 to 40.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 105.00 to 115.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 104.00 to 113.50. Selection 2, 40 to 60 lbs., 97.00 to 105.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 95.00 to 106.00.
