Ericson cattle sales report

The Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 3,500 head Nov. 8, compared to 4,000 head last week, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to last week, feeder calves trended $2 to $4 higher. Cattle quality was average to good, with both weaned and fresh calves in the offering. Receipt consisted of 66% steers and 34% heifers, with 26% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 361 to 391 lbs., 123.50 to 124.00 (123.77); 409 to 435 lbs., 117.50 to 130.75 (122.67); 475 to 497 lbs., 113.00 to 121.50 (118.99); 515 to 540 lbs., 105.50 to 114.50 (111.00); 550 to 594 lbs., 103.50 to 110.60 (108.31); 602 to 646 lbs., 103.00 to 110.00 (107.48) calves; 655 to 661 lbs., 105.00 to 107.10 (106.07) calves; 706 to 730 lbs., 103.35 to 105.00 (104.47 Calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 456 lbs., 115.00. Medium and large frame 2, 11 head, 360 lbs., 85.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 348 lbs., 109.00; 366 to 398 lbs., 108.50 to 110.50 (109.46); 401 to 446 lbs., 104.50 to 110.50 (106.47); 15 head, 424 lbs., 99.50 full; 461 to 499 lbs., 98.00 to 105.75 (104.01); 517 to 540 lbs., 98.00 to 103.75 (101.52); 66 head, 533 lbs., 109.00 replacement; 550 to 584 lbs., 95.75 to 101.75 (98.82); 575 to 581 lbs., 103.00 to 111.00 (107.35) replacement; 600 to 636 lbs., 98.00 to 98.50 (98.30) calves; 26 head, 656 lbs., 100.00 calves; 9 head, 763 lbs., 93.25 calves.
