Dalhart livestock sales report

The Cattleman's Livestock Commission Co., Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 2,638 head Nov. 6, compared to 2,358 head last week and 2,648 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were mostly steady except those at 500 to 550 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers were steady, and some instances over 600 pounds were $1 higher. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3 lower. Slaughter bulls were not well tested. Trade and demand were moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 21% of the offering, slaughter bulls 1%, and feeders 78%. The feeder supply included 49% steers and 51% heifers, with nearly 37% of the run over 600 pounds.

Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 116.00 to 125.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 108.00 to 110.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 90.00 to 96.00, pre-conditioned 103.00 to 108.00; 600 to 700 lb calves 85.50 to 90.00; package 845 lbs., 88.50. Medium and large frame 2, package 317 lbs., pre-conditioned 115.00, package 389 lbs., 101.00; package 486 lbs., 99.00; package 501 lbs., 100.00; few 600 to 700 lbs., 83.00 to 87.00; package 711 lbs., 86.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, few 200 to 300 lbs., 120.00 to 129.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 103.00 to 110.00, thin 113.00 to 118.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 95.00 to 99.00, two packages 422 to 498 lbs., 91.00 to 104.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 81.00 to 87.00, pre-conditioned 92.00 to 97.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 91.50 to 92.75, calves 85.00 to 90.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 92.00 to 94.35, package 745 lb calves 87.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 383 lbs., 97.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 87.00 to 91.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 80.00 to 88.00, load 586 lbs., 90.25; 600 to 700 lbs., 81.00 to 86.00, package 645 lbs., 85.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1600 lbs., 41.00 to 47.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1100 to 1500 lbs., 40.00 to 43.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 39.50 to 44.50; low dressing, 35.00 to 37.00; 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1000 lbs., 39.00 to 43.50; low dressing, 29.00 to 35.00.

Dairy slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1400 to 1800 lbs., 43.50 to 45.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1400 to 1700 lbs., 42.00 to 44.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1300 to 1600 lbs., 41.50 to 43.50.
