Colorado feeder cattle summaryThe Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 10,669 head Nov. 7, compared to 13,512 head last week and 16,250 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, yearling steers and heifers sold mostly $2 to $4 higher. Steer and heifer calves weighing under 600 pounds sold steady to $3 higher, those over 600 pounds were $2 to $3 higher, with instances of $5 to $6 higher. Demand was good. Buyer interest remained focused on pre-conditioned, long-time weaned calves. Yearling cattle were increasingly attractive as numbers tapered off and calf numbers increased. The supply was made up of 66% feeder steers, 34% feeder heifers, balance feeder bulls, with about 39% of total feeder supply over 600 pounds.
